Clear answers, confident next steps.

Compliance rules are written for lawyers. We turn them into plain steps for your business, and then we help you take them.

Built on a real security program

Compliance holds up best on top of strong security. We start by understanding your systems, their weak spots and the threats that could exploit them. Then we put protection and detection in place, and we build and test your recovery plan.

We know the rules your industry answers to

Medical offices answer to HIPAA. Investment advisers answer to SEC Regulation S-P. Firms with Department of Defense contracts need at least CMMC Level 1, including Hawaii construction and engineering firms on defense projects. We know these rules, and we help you meet them with confidence.

Frequently asked questions

1
Does IT Hawaii help with HIPAA compliance?

Yes. IT Hawaii helps medical practices and other businesses that handle patient health information on Oahu and Kauai with HIPAA assessments, written policies, security improvements and help with compliance forms. We show you where you stand against HIPAA's security requirements and what to fix first.

3
Who needs CMMC Level 1?

Companies with Department of Defense contracts that handle Federal Contract Information need at least CMMC Level 1, including construction and engineering firms on defense projects. Level 1 covers basic safeguards and an annual self-assessment. IT Hawaii helps you put those safeguards in place and document them.

5
Is compliance the same as cybersecurity?

They work together. Cybersecurity is how you protect your systems, and compliance shows you meet the rules that apply to your business. IT Hawaii builds the security program first, then documents it so you can show regulators, clients and insurers what you do.

2
What is SEC Regulation S-P?

SEC Regulation S-P is the SEC rule that requires broker-dealers, investment advisers and other covered financial firms to protect customer information. Its 2024 amendments added requirements for an incident response program and for notifying affected customers after certain breaches. IT Hawaii helps covered firms in Hawaii assess their programs and close the gaps.

4
How does a compliance assessment work?

IT Hawaii reviews your systems, policies and daily practices against the rules that apply to your business. You get a clear picture of where you stand and a prioritized list of what to fix. From there, IT Hawaii can write your policies and close the gaps.

6
Does IT Hawaii work with businesses outside Honolulu?

Yes. IT Hawaii works with businesses across Oahu and Kauai from offices in Honolulu and Lihue, and supports Maui and Big Island locations for clients who also have a presence on Oahu or Kauai.
